Our client is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day accounting operations and keeping the financial house in order.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to disorganized systems, cleaning up inco nsistencies, and then building practical, repeatable processes that hold up in a fast-paced, insurance-driven environment. This requires someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and own the work.

What This Role Is
• A take-control, hands-on role, not a support role
• A blend of cleanup, stabilization, and steady ongoing ownership
• An operational accounting role with room to grow responsibility over time

Responsibilities
• Take ownership of day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Assess, clean up, and stabilize existing books and accounting processes
• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including insurance-driven AR
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Own and manage monthly SERVPRO royalty reporting and payments
• Oversee and process payroll, including payroll reconciliation and reporting
• Own month-end close, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-supported financial statements
• Track and code job-related expenses across multiple locations
• Maintain audit-ready books and ensure franchise compliance
• Partner with ownership on cash-flow visibility, AR aging, and financial reporting
• Coordinate with external CPA and support year-end close
• Establish and enforce consistent accounting processes going forward
• Proactively identify issues and recommend practical, scalable solutions

Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience with increasing responsibility
• Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency (required)
• Demonstrated experience with reconciliations, AR/AP, payroll, and month-end close
• Experience inheriting and cleaning up imperfect accounting systems
• High level of ownership, organization, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Experience
• Prior Accounting Manager; Controller experience a plus
• Construction or service-based business experience
• Experience with insurance billing and complex receivables
• Multi-location and/or job-costing environments
