Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky, and offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing accounting while contributing to the department's operational goals. Responsibilities: - Process accounts payable tasks, including invoice entry, vendor communication, and statement reviews. - Manage accounts receivable functions such as invoicing, addressing customer inquiries, and handling collections. - Set up item masters and apply manufacturing cost accounting principles, ensuring accurate variance tracking. - Assist in preparing for and participating in both internal and external audits. - Evaluate and refine operational processes to uphold efficiency and compliance standards. - Conduct regular account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy. - Maintain accurate accounting entries and contribute to month-end closing activities. - Collaborate on special projects and additional duties as assigned. - Travel as needed up to 10% to support accounting operations or audits. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; candidates with 1-3 years of work experience are encouraged to apply. - Familiarity with cost accounting principles is preferred. - Proficiency in basic Excel functions is required. - Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. - Strong ability to perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations. - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication skills for vendor and customer interactions. - Willingness to travel up to 10% for business purposes.
