Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing daily warehouse operations. This includes supervising staff, managing inbound and outbound logistics, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), coaching team members, implementing process improvements, and supporting the Logistics Manager with projects and strategic tasks. The Supervisor ensures that warehouse performance meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational success.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Dock-to-Stock cycle time (goal: within 1 business day)
    • Picking Accuracy (goal: 99% or higher)
    • On-Time Shipping
    • Cycle Count Accuracy
  • Perform regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews with warehouse team members, including monthly one-on-one sessions focused on performance and development.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager on projects related to operational efficiency, warehouse layout optimization, system upgrades (e.g., PathGuide), and new process implementations.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and continuous training of warehouse personnel to maintain a knowledgeable and effective team.
  • Ensure proper enforcement and training of safety procedures and protocols; actively contribute to the safety committee.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, enhance productivity, and improve overall warehouse flow.
  • Provide backup support for the Warehouse Manager in their absence, including handling escalated issues and representing the department in cross-functional meetings.
  • Oversee warehouse cleanliness, security, and compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Foster a positive and motivational team environment that emphasizes accountability, growth, and collaboration.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a high-volume warehouse distribution setting.
  • 2+ years of experience in the HVAC distribution industry preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (Latitude WMS preferred).
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a hands-on management style.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting warehouse metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience leading or participating in Lean or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
