Overview

A Brand New 24-hour Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center is seeking an experienced Supervising Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and clinical oversight within a fast-paced crisis setting serving adults experiencing acute mental health emergencies.

This role combines direct clinical care with nursing supervision and requires strong judgment, leadership, and experience working with high-acuity and co-occurring populations .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments for adults in crisis

• Diagnose and treat individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders

• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including MAT where appropriate

• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans

• Provide medication education and psychoeducation

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Complete timely documentation within the electronic health record

• Provide clinical supervision and guidance to RN staff

• Collaborate closely with an on-site or designated psychiatrist

• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing

• ANCC-certified PMHNP

• Active New Jersey RN & APN license in good standing

• Minimum 2 years of experience in community behavioral health, crisis, inpatient psych, or emergency psychiatric settings

• Experience with co-occurring disorders and high-acuity populations strongly preferred
