Job Description

Acara Solution is looking for a Software Defined Networking (SDN) Engineer  for our defense client in  Scottsdale, AZ . This is a long-term contract position, possible contract-to-direct. Onsite in Scottsdale. 

This position requires citizenship - contractor must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance after start. 

• We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Defined Networking (SDN) Engineer to join our dynamic team. 
• As a Software Defined Networking (SDN) Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing SDN solutions on a multi-transport, networking radio. 
• Design and develop Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions to enhance network performance, scalability, and flexibility.
• Implement and manage Software Defined Networking (SDN) controllers and network virtualization technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions such as Modular Radio Frequency (RF), Seeker, and Viasat's NetAgility.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues to provide timely resolutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for Software Defined Networking (SDN) architectures, configurations, and procedures.
• Stay up to date with the latest Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies and industry trends to ensure best practices.
• Participate in network architecture design and capacity planning.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using Software Defined Networking (SDN) tools and scripting languages.
• Provide technical support and training to team members and stakeholders on Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics with 8 years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with network engineering and Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies with strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) controllers (e.g., OpenDaylight, ONOS) and network virtualization platforms.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions such as Modular Radio Frequency ( RF), Seeker, or Viasat NetAgility.
• Min 2 years of experience in Python, Java, or C++. 

The ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance after hire. 

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.
• Agile experience.
• Good background in network engineering, software development, and Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies. 
• Familiarity with cloud networking and infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with embedded Linux systems.

• Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

• Successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance.
