We are hiring Sales Representatives!
Cox Cactus Farm, a leading Arizona wholesale supplier of high-quality plant material, serves a diverse clientele including landscapers, nurseries, resorts, and municipalities throughout Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Texas, and beyond. As we expand our reach, we are seeking driven Sales Representatives to join our growing team. This is a full-time position with performance-based compensation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Communicating effectively in person and over the phone to discover the customer’s wants and needs
- Respond promptly to customer requests for bids, availability inquiries, as well as orders via email or phone
- Make daily sales calls to potential and current customers
- Spending time outside in the nursery year-round taking pictures to send to customers as well as checking plant availability and quality
- Stay abreast of our current plant inventory to speak knowledgeably to customers about quality and availability
- Work with your sales team to complete a thorough availability of plant material twice a month
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers
Job Qualifications and Experience
- An energetic/motivated self-starter who enjoys the sales process
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organizational skills
- Friendly, pleasant, upbeat, courteous, and professional
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Plant experience is a bonus
- Willingness to learn plant identification within the first 60 days
- Spanish speaking is a bonus
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred
- Complete and pass a Criminal Background Check
Schedule, Pay, and Benefits
- This is a full-time, on-site position at our nursery. Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, with seasonal adjustments: Summer (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM), Winter (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).
- Sales representatives are paid a commission on their sales, as well as an hourly rate, monthly sales bonuses, and an annual bonus.
- New hires receive 30 days of on-the-job training followed by a 60-day opportunity to build clientele business. During these 90 days, the new hire receives a guaranteed salary before switching to commission sales and the opportunity to earn monthly sales bonuses. The starting pay for the first 90 days is an hourly rate of $16.50/hour as well as a bi-weekly salary of $800.
- Once the 90-day training period has ended, pay becomes heavily commission based with potential first year earnings of $80k-$100k. Those who are sales driven or have prior experience within the nursery and landscape industry have the potential to earn even more.
- Accounts varying from large to small will be given to you. You are expected to continue growing these accounts, as well as bringing in new business.
- Benefits include vacation time, paid time off, and paid holidays.
- A company cell phone is provided.
