Job Description

The Rohde & Schwarz Frederick Production Team produces Voice Systems Racks, Body Scanners, and other Rohde & Schwarz products for governmental and non-governmental projects. We are looking for someone to join our world-class operations team to continue to deliver these high-quality products. This individual will focus his/her talents in the work center responsible for the production of RF racking/cabling and delivering system support devices. They will be responsible for executing against our existing build and delivery processes. Working within our continuous improvement program, it will be important for this individual to use LEAN practices to help meet our customers’ requirements.

Your tasks

  • Perform rack installations of customer communication systems, including RF components, coax, connectors, grounding hardware, cable supports, splitters, fiber optic cables, CAT6 cabling, power distribution components, and other communication subassemblies.
  • Read, interpret, and follow system wiring diagrams, routing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and configuration documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Route, label, terminate, and secure all cable connections (RF, data, fiber, power, grounding) according to project specifications and applicable government/industry standards.
  • Follow company, customer-specific, and industry standard installation procedures.
  • Use hand and power tools such as crimpers, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, digital multimeters, label makers, laptops, and material handling equipment.
  • Maintain organized workstations and apply LEAN practices into daily work including Kaizen Events, A3 Documentation, 5S practices, One Piece Flow and others.
  • Complete required documentation, including as-built records, cable logs, quality checklists, and configuration control updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your qualifications

  • Experience with racks hardware installation, communication racks, cable routing, and grounding connector.
  • Trained in ESD safe handling techniques and proper handling of sensitive electronic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with the skill to identify assembly issues, cable faults, and configuration problems.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with engineering, quality, and onsite customer representatives.
  • Ability to fabricate and test RF and data cables (coax, fiber, Ethernet) is a plus.
  • Ability to work within a Quality Management System (QMS) and complete traceability documentation.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders as required.

This is a full time hourly position. The total compensation for this position is $26-$43 per hour. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
