Are you an experienced manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment? We’re seeking a proactive Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations and lead a dedicated team in a dynamic production setting.

In this critical role, you’ll ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Champion a strong 5S culture by maintaining and enhancing workplace organization and cleanliness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all safety practices; identify and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Monitor and report 5S and safety KPIs to upper management weekly and monthly.
  • Ensure the department is always “tour and audit” ready.
  • Support training initiatives to strengthen safety awareness across the team.

Production Operations

  • Communicate department goals and objectives clearly to all team members.
  • Manage personnel and assets to ensure production schedules are met efficiently.
  • Proactively address variances with corrective actions to maintain performance targets.
  • Build strong relationships between management and the hourly workforce through open communication, feedback, and recognition.
  • Develop and execute plans to boost employee engagement scores.
  • Coach and develop team members, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.
  • Meet or exceed all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Adhere to production processes and quality standards, involving Engineering and Quality teams when changes are needed.
  • Manage resources effectively to minimize inefficiencies, overtime, and unnecessary costs.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained to maximize uptime and performance.

Quality Assurance

  • Uphold all production processes as defined in work instructions; deviations require written authorization.
  • Ensure team members are fully trained to support operational and quality requirements.
  • Participate in customer and quality audits as needed.
  • Foster a quality-first culture—non-conforming goods are not acceptable.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on tools to maintain quality standards and maximize uptime.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Participate in customer tours and ensure the workforce can demonstrate their roles in delivering quality products.
  • Take full ownership of producing goods that meet or exceed customer acceptance criteria.

Cost Reduction & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply Lean tools such as Kaizen and 5S to achieve cost reduction goals.
  • Regularly review processes to identify and implement more efficient methods.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events and cost savings projects throughout the year.
  • Utilize problem-solving tools such as 5-Why analysis to address root causes effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Manage discipline, conflict resolution, and terminations in compliance with legal and union contract requirements.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work while fostering a supportive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading Kaizen and 5S initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in tracking and maintaining KPIs.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (TS experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and company-specific software systems.
