Job Title: Plant Processing Supervisor
Location: Kansas City, MO 64101
Position Summary
The Plant Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the consolidation, processing, and handling of all inbound hazardous, non-hazardous, universal wastes, and off-spec products. Reporting to the Plant Processing Manager, this role ensures that all customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements. The Supervisor will manage a team of 5–6 employees, focusing on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations of waste processing and material handling.
Ensure all customer orders are completed on time and in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain operational documentation including reports, licenses, procedures, and order records.
Coordinate with other facilities and corporate teams for workload planning and logistics.
Manage site purchasing activities, including purchase orders, work orders, and vendor invoicing.
Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Communicate operational needs and updates to management.
Lead segregation and packaging of waste materials for transport, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Assign and monitor team schedules, providing coaching and feedback to support performance.
Train and mentor technicians on equipment operation and process procedures.
Champion safety and compliance initiatives across the plant.
Enforce adherence to Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA) protocols.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in an environmental-related field preferred.
Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training or ability to obtain.
Experience
Minimum 5 years in environmental or hazardous waste operations.
Strong understanding of RCRA and DOT regulations.
Experience with waste profiling and inventory/shipping documentation.
