Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Duration: 6+ Months (Possible extension or conversion)

Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Pay: Negotiable

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to support our Core Laboratory team in Kalamazoo, MI. This position is ideal for candidates with generalist experience, particularly in Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank. The role offers potential for extension or permanent hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform generalist lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation
• Support Blood Bank as needed
• Follow established laboratory protocols and quality control standards
• Accurately process and analyze specimens within turnaround times
• Maintain documentation and comply with laboratory safety regulations

Requirements:

1. Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
2. Bachelor’s degree (MLS/MT) preferred
3. Will consider Associate degree (MLT) with strong experience
4. ASCP or AMT certification preferred (will consider eligible or registered candidates)
5. Prior experience in a generalist role, including Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank

Preferred Background:

Experience as a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or an experienced Medical Lab Technician (MLT)

Familiarity with laboratory information systems and modern instrumentation

Ability to work independently during evening shift
