Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Overview:

We’re seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our facility. This hands-on role involves supporting a variety of building systems and trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and mechanical repair. You’ll help ensure that the facility operates efficiently and safely by responding to work orders, maintaining equipment, and addressing issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment using a PM tracking system and respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  • Operate and maintain the facility’s water room and related systems.
  • Conduct routine and emergency mechanical repairs across the facility and grounds.
  • Perform tasks across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
  • Handle routine building repairs, fixture installation, and facility upgrades.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address repair needs.
  • Work from basic sketches or drawings when needed.
  • Use good judgment to resolve moderately complex maintenance issues and make recommendations.
  • Follow general instructions for routine tasks and detailed directions for new assignments.
  • Safely handle and work with chemicals as required.
  • Perform occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in building maintenance or related trades.
  • Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and painting.
  • Experience with water treatment systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other equipment.
  • Housekeeping duties may be included, such as trash handling and floor cleaning with machines.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
