Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician ensures the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial machinery and equipment by performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs, ultimately supporting efficient production operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspect equipment for proper functionality and perform general preventative maintenance duties.
  2. Observe mechanical devices in operation and locate cause of malfunction.
  3. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts (i.e. pumps and piping, electrical connections and air systems).
  4. Diagnose equipment operating problems and make repairs, part replacements and adjustments.
  5. Diagnose electrical control problems to circuit board as needed.
  6. Test devices to analyze performance.
  7. Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and machining tools.
  8. Weld and perform sheet metal operation desired.
  9. Perform complex repairs and equipment/control problem diagnosis.
  10. Assist in planning and coordinating major equipment repairs and replacements.
  11. Remove and install hydraulic lines.
  12. Maintain and repair facility equipment and structure as needed.
  13. Secure plant facility and grounds in emergency inclement weather situations as needed.
  14. Assist departments with moving furniture, equipment, and storage as needed.
  15. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  6. Possess an Associate Degree in Electrical Systems or Industrial Technologies; or a minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Maintenance.
  7. Possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  8. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving limited concrete variables in standardized situations.

  1. Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, bar graphs, wiring diagrams, Hydraulic schematics and procedure manuals.
  2. Possess basic communication skills using common courtesy.
  3. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving limited concrete variables in standardized situations.
  4. Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
  5. Possess basic proficiency in Microsoft Products and Internet Explorer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, feel, or handle; employee must regularly reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, outside weather conditions, and/or vibration. The noise level in this environment is usually loud.
