JOB SUMMARY

The Geographic Information Systems Developer is responsible for analysing, maintaining, designing, developing, testing, and implementing GIS applications, automations, and spatial ETLs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creates spatial ETLs using Safe Software FME platform
  • Configures and customizes applications and tools built in VertiGIS Web Studio and VertiGIS Workflows
  • Configures and customizes applications built in Esri’s ArcGIS Experience Builder.
  • Develops custom applications, custom widgets and tools for spatial web applications.
  • Identifies, analyzes, maintains, supports, designs, develops/configures and upgrades GIS software applications (in-house and third party software) to ensure processes and functionality of the applications comply with the organization requirements, processes and regulations.
  • Research, plans, develops, tests, and implements internal and external interfaces between SAWS system applications and the Enterprise GIS
  • Creates spatial web-based and mobile mapping applications using Esri, VertiGIS, and/or Safe Software FME technologies
  • Conducts usability testing for spatial web-based and mobile mapping applications before implementation.
  • Troubleshoots issues with existing or developed spatial web-based and mobile mapping applications.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of applications that describes the processing and maintains the support of the GIS applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, Management Information Systems or related field from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
  • Four years' progressively responsible experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing and supporting GIS applications.
  • Experience with Safe Software FME
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and Esri Applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience configuring, developing, and customizing VertiGIS Web Studio applications and VertiGIS Workflows
  • Experience configuring, developing, and customizing Esri’s Experience Builder applications
