Job Description

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking on behalf of our corporate client, an Interim Director of Compliance. This is a temporary position that may convert to FTE eventually.

Overview : Interim Director of Compliance

Company: Shipping, logistics and software solutions

Experience: Previous experience in internal corporate compliance – preferably in a leadership position

Location: Austin, TX

Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct interviews with the executive team and direct reports to understand operational risks and compliance vulnerabilities.
• Develop a Risk Assessment to identify priority compliance areas.
• Create a Heat Map to visualize compliance risks and areas requiring immediate attention.
• Lay groundwork for implementation of an internal compliance program, including policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in corporate compliance, preferably in an internal compliance leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing compliance programs within an organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive compliance culture within the organization.
• Ability to work on-site most of the time, with some remote flexibility.
