Job Description

As our HR Manager, you’ll lead the HR function for our brand-new 400-person manufacturing facility.

You’ll build our people practices from the ground up—building a positive culture, providing strategic

insight, recruiting great talent, driving engagement, ensuring compliance, and providing leadership to

ensure organization priorities, goals and culture are successfully integrated and achieved.

Key functional responsibilities will include implementing US-based employee programs and policies,

supporting workforce planning and recruitment, managing employee relations, leading benefits

administration, providing necessary training and career path guidance, leading ongoing coaching, and

advising business leaders on employee development and engagement.

As this is a new plant buildout and the first in the United States for this company, this role is an

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager with the ability to lead the strategic responsibilities for

what will be about 400 employees. This role demands a people-centric leader capable of helping build

out the HR functions at the new facility and overseeing the successful and numerous requirements of HR

on an ongoing basis. This role will work closely with the General Manager (GM) of the US business and

the extended team, to provide HR insights to help drive business solutions. This role reports to the Chief

Administrative Officer (CAO) and a dotted line to the General Manager (GM).

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as a proactive and strategic partner with US leadership to align HR strategy and programs

with US business. Provides thought leadership on initiatives, policies, and programs that support

company goals and employee experience. Utilize strong communication and relationship skills to

work with leadership to develop HR solutions that address business needs

• Serve as a key advisor and/or resource for employee relations

• Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts and work to retain top talent

• Drive change management with regional business leaders on key initiatives

• Support and mentor leadership in the development and deployment of effective employee

performance/development strategies and processes.

• Participate in the needs analysis, planning and coordination of employee training and

development courses

• Respond to employee requests regarding current policies and procedures and various HR

related matters

• Administer all benefits administration including 401(k), health and dental insurance, etc. Lead

US administration and oversight responsibilities.

• Develop and maintain competitive compensation program for all employees to ensure internal

equity and competitiveness with the external market. Lead US administration and oversight

responsibilities.

• Participate in the design, development, roll out and training of US employment policies and

procedures.

• Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service

delivery

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline

• Minimum of 10 years of Human Resources experience including 3 in a leadership role

• SHRM designation is preferred

• Proficient in US employment law and labor laws

• Ability to manage and enable change

• Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and training.

• 5+ years of recruitment experience and building a talent pipeline is preferred

• Excellent leadership, problem solving, facilitation and interpersonal skills.

• Resourceful, innovative, and persuasive.

• Flexibility to quickly shift priorities and juggle simultaneous requirements.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to operate effectively both tactically and strategically in support of short- and long-term

business priorities.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where

flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important

• Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

with competing deadlines.

• Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing, and/or construction environment is

considered an asset

• Knowledge of ADP is an asset
