Opsource of Spartanburg is seeking a highly organized and experienced Electronic Technician to join a local company in Spartanburg, SC.

Position Type & Hours:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime, including weekends or holidays, may be required based on business needs.


The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Electronic Engineering Technologist to repair, calibrate, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, build prototypes, and support the development of test equipment. This role demands technical expertise, accountability, and exceptional customer service to exceed client expectations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and calibrate electrical/electronic systems to component level.
  • Research, order, and store electronic components.
  • Build prototypes from plans or sketches.
  • Adhere to and support all safety rules in a high-risk electrical/electronic environment.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, troubleshoot, and repair electronic boards and frequency inverters.
  • Adjust and replace defective circuitry and components.
  • Program Eeproms and update test procedures.
  • Design and develop test equipment.
  • Log work, maintain equipment, tools, lab, and storage areas, and clean work area daily.


Work Environment:
The employee will work in an environment with frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level can be loud.


Physical Demands:
This active role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift/move items over 50 pounds and possess close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Travel:
Occasional travel to customer sites or for training, including potential domestic and international trips.


Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent military training.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics repair.
  • Proficiency in SMT, SMD, and through-hole soldering.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and company-specific programs.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility for mandatory overtime, including weekends/holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Experience in an international work environment.
  • Willingness to attend job-related training in the U.S. or overseas.
