Job Description:

Luminii, a lighting company in Niles, IL has had rapid growth and seeks an Architectural Lighting Product Marketing Manager who will manage new product development and current product portfolio to ensure a high return on investment through effective management of existing product life cycles, identifying new opportunities, and defining, developing, and launching new products. Oversee product development from start (concept) to finish (shipping with standard lead times) and product management from cradle to grave. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and Product Management.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement product strategies for Luminii brands and product lines.

- Create and program manage product roadmaps.

- Responsible for generating Business Proposals, Market Requirements Documents and Charters for new product development.

- Perform competitive & gap analysis.

- Determine and recommend price and profit goals for new products.

- Gather VoC data and maintain the pulse of the industry.

- Monitor performance (using data analytics) to identify trends, formulate strategy and aid in decision-making.

- Collect and analyze feedback from end-users, customers, inside and outside sales, sales reps, and other stakeholders to shape requirements, features, and end products.

- Work closely with the Director of Commercial Effectiveness on the launch of new products.

- Work closely with the engineering team to research and implement new technology and develop new products.

- Work with existing and new vendors to stay current with the latest technology offerings.

- Produce detailed product requirements documents.

- Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive communication, buy-in and better decision making.

- Partake in project management responsibilities to ensure products are launched correctly and on schedule.

- Make recommendations to expand current product (new SKUs, features, etc.)

- Make recommendations to discontinue current products (SKUs, features, etc.)

- Make recommendations for new product usage (forecast) and initial order quantities.

- Coordinate and assist marketing and graphics team to generate content for digital, literature, and training materials; understand how to efficiently tell the product story.

- Provide presentations to industry professionals, colleagues and customer groups as needed.

Required Education, Experience, Skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business

- 3+ years of Product Management experience

- 5+ years of Product Related Experience in Lighting – Engineering or Business development

- Ability to apply critical thinking skills to determine the best approach to bring new products to market and to work with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales staff.

- Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, excel and PowerPoint.

- Experience in Product Development/Engineering is a plus.

- Experience in Architectural Lighting Business is a MUST.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work cross-functionally.

- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
