We are a leading machine vision manufacturer and service provider in the printing industry. Videk is based out of Rochester, NY, but we service companies throughout the US and across the world. Our customers include numerous companies across different fields; from banking, government, healthcare, and insurance, to playing cards and book manufacturing. 

 

Job Description 

Videk is seeking an entry level Applications Engineer I to add to its Customer Technical Support (CTS) team. This remote position is based in the Coppell, TX area, and requires up to 50% travel. This position reports to the Applications Engineering Manager. This role offers hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, and software systems, fostering a comprehensive understanding of multidisciplinary engineering.

This is an ideal position for a recent college graduate, with 1-2 years of work experience or an undergraduate internship / capstone project.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Installation of vision systems according to detailed electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Configuration of software, electronics, and hardware to meet customer needs.
  • Integration of vision system I/O (input/output) signals with existing equipment.
  • Regular on-site technical support for local Dallas area accounts, primarily in Coppell, TX.
  • Periodic on-site technical support of assigned accounts in the United States. 
  • Hybrid (home office) and on-site technical support- primarily local and other domestic major key accounts.
  • Supporting partner channel service organizations in maintaining Videk equipment.
  • Managing spare parts inventory to ensure uptime and replenishment of critical components.
  • Providing remote or on-site pre-sales technical support for new vision system applications.
  • Assisting marketing and communications with trade shows, customer demonstrations, and case studies.
  • Create and update documentation such as field engineer manuals, operator guides, etc.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, hardware, electrical and conditional logic.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Word for documentation purposes
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Basic knowledge of machine vision systems or other industrial / manufacturing equipment.
  • Base knowledge of Linux systems, including networking and command line interface.
  • 1-2 years working in a customer-facing role, or undergraduate internship or capstone project experience
  • Hands-on experience with basic hand tools.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is : $60,000 - $68,000 Annually.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
