Job Title: Air and Ocean Import Specialist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 (Depending on Experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Air and Ocean Import Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-paced logistics team in Atlanta, GA . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coordinating international shipments, managing end-to-end import processes, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage full-cycle import shipments via air and ocean from origin to final delivery.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation including commercial invoices , packing lists , HBL/MBL , ISF filings , and Customs clearance instructions .
  • Liaise with overseas agents, airlines, steamship lines, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers to ensure timely movement of cargo.
  • Track and trace inbound shipments, proactively communicate status updates, and resolve delays or exceptions.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and documentation in the TMS (Transportation Management System).
  • Work closely with the customs brokerage team to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in air and ocean import operations within a freight forwarding or 3PL environment.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software systems (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations , ISF filing , and HTS classification .
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
